For safe swing practice in the neighborhood park, these are probably the best option on the market. They draw and fade like a real ball, with just a couple of problems. First, because they are light, the effects of the wind are exaggerated. With a tailwind they fly very straight and far. Cross winds move them a ton, and a headwind will cause the low- and mid-irons to balloon. The other problem with the weight is that it is tough to feel the contact point when you hit the heel, the toe, or skull one. All that said, they are incomparably superior to the yellow foam balls or the plastic whiffle balls, both of which are essentially useless. The Almostgolf ball lets you get real swing practice and, if the wind is down, get a pretty good idea of your swing line and spin. Just what the coach ordered for a player who can't get to the range as often as they would like. They are also completely safe. I banged one straight off a big window with my driver and all it made was a noisy slap; no damage. It is also fun to get a friend and hit them to each other from 30-50 yards with no risk of injury.
